For riders

What is Shuttle?

A ride-hailing app that connects riders with independent drivers. You can book at the live fare or name your own price.

Where and when does Shuttle launch?

We are launching soon in Sri Lanka. The Google Play and App Store links will be on this website the day the app is available.

How does naming my price work?

Tap Negotiate and offer a price within a range around the suggested fare. Nearby drivers accept, counter or decline. Up to three can compete, and you choose one or let the timer pick the cheapest offer. Both of you confirm the price before the trip starts.

Do I have to negotiate?

No. Tap Drivers to book at the live fare, and drivers simply accept or decline.

How do I pay?

In cash, directly to your driver at the end of the trip. Card payments are not available.

Is the price fixed?

The price you see is an estimate. It can change if the route, waiting or stops change, and you see a new quote before you confirm a change.

What is the booking fee?

A small fee that is already included in the price you see.

How long will a driver wait for me?

5 minutes free at pickup and 3 minutes at each stop. After that a per-minute waiting charge applies.

Can I cancel?

Free while you are searching or negotiating, and for a short time after a driver accepts. After that a fee can apply if the driver was already on the way. See the cancellation and fees policy.

Which vehicles can I book?

Bike, tuk-tuk, Economy, Premium, Exclusive, SUV, Mini Van and Van. Lorries are booked as Courier.

What is Carpool?

Share a one-way ride with another rider heading your way. You never pay more than riding alone, and both rider and driver must switch it on.

What is Shuttle Pink?

An option that sends your request only to women drivers. It is designed for women riders.

What is the Ride Code?

A 4-digit code shown when your driver arrives. Give it to the driver to start the trip, so you know you are with the right driver.

What does SOS do?

It texts your emergency contact a map link to where you were, your route and your driver’s details, and ends the trip. It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call your local emergency services first.

Can I share my trip?

Yes. Send a link and anyone can follow the trip on a map, with no app needed. Share it only with people you trust, because anyone with the link can see the trip.

Who can use Shuttle?

Riders must be 18 or older. You sign up with a Sri Lankan mobile number or an email address.

Which languages does the app support?

English, Sinhala and Tamil, plus French and two Arabic dialects.

Are my messages private?

Chat is between you and your driver during the trip and is deleted about 72 hours after it. It is not end-to-end encrypted, so it can be reviewed if you report a safety issue or a dispute.

Does Shuttle provide insurance?

No. Each driver must hold their own insurance. See the Terms.

How do I contact support?

In the app, open Help and Support and create a ticket, or email support@shuttle.lk.

How do I delete my account?

Use the Delete your account page.

For drivers

Who can drive with Shuttle?

You must be 21 or older with a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, insurance certificate, fitness certificate and revenue licence.

How do I apply?

Download the app, tap Start Driving, create your account, add your vehicle and upload six documents. Our team reviews them and you hear by SMS and in the app.

Are drivers Shuttle employees?

No. Drivers are independent contractors, and Shuttle does not guarantee trips or income.

How does Shuttle charge drivers?

Shuttle charges a commission on each completed fare. The app shows what you earn before you accept a trip.

How do I get paid?

The rider pays you in cash at the end of the trip.

Can I choose when I drive?

Yes. Go online or offline whenever you like.

Which vehicles can I use?

Bike, tuk-tuk, car, SUV, van, mini van or lorry.

What if the rider does not show up?

Wait for the free waiting time, then mark the rider as a no-show. A fee may apply to the rider.

Can I decline a trip?

Yes. You can accept, decline or counter each request.
